Buck Eyed Fred aka "Trigger"

2014 Palomino Gelding | AQHA #5657737

SOLD at Cody Horse Sale May 2019 - $15,000

Trigger is a gentle, safe and kind 2014 AQHA Palomino Gelding.  He is 15.1H tall and about 1300#.  Trigger has the iconic good looks to go with the name. If you grew up with Roy Rogers like I did you will understand what I’m saying. Trigger is TWO EYED DANDY BUCK, TWO EYED JACK and HOT RODDIN COWBOY bred.

A good looking, thick made, full of personality gelding with no nonsense or bad habits and absolutely no buck. GENTLE and KIND comes natural for this horse and he has stayed that way every day we’ve spent with him.  We rate him as a #3 and he is on his way to be a #1 bomb proof horse with more exposure and a little more age on him. This is a horse that the whole family should be able to ride and enjoy.

Trigger is very athletic and has the potential to make someone an outstanding head horse prospect with size, good bone and feet under him. He is well started with handling a rope, will log and pull from the horn, lopes nice collected circles in both leads, good lateral and vertical flexation, ridden on mountain trails in the North Absaroka and Washakie Wilderness west of Cody Wyoming, crosses water, bridges, gathered cattle, good to hobble, high line and pack. He has been ridden in a snaffle, a light transition bit and a bosal, he moves softly off foot and leg pressure, is very light and responsive.

Trigger is a horse that travels out with a real ground covering walk, that is very smooth moving and will take care of you like he took care of our good friend, 78 years (young), George Matthews. He is the kind that most people need in their horse program and he’s been in good hands his whole life.

Quick to Gamble aka "Vegas"

2014 Grey Gelding | AQHA #5623769

SOLD at the Cody Horse Sale May 2019 - $10,000

Vegas is a gentle, safe and sound 2014 Grey Gelding.  He stands 15H tall and weighs about 1200#.  He is a grandson of TAYLOR FROST TIVIO, along with TYREES WATCH, JET ON AND CHICALEO.

Vegas is a very sensible and safe ranch and mountain trail horse with a great mind, disposition and has been started right. He has been on our ranch since he was a 2-year-old and we have brought him along nice and slow, never pushed hard but has been exposed to a lot. He is well started with handling a rope, will log and pull from the horn, ridden on mountain trails in the North Absaroka and Washakie Wilderness west of Cody Wyoming and is very safe and sure footed.

He's trailed and gathered cattle, good to hobble, high line, pack and always good to catch, tie, bathe, shoe, saddle, bridle, load and haul. Never, EVER, cold backed or offered to buck - NO NONSENSE or BAD HABITS! This is a very gentle gelding that will fit most level of riders. Due to his young age we would not recommend him as a kid’s horse (yet), so we rate him as a #4, but we haven’t found much that ever bothers this gelding. He will fit well for anyone who wants a good looking, gentle, trail or ranch horse with solid foot and bone.

He was started in a snaffle bit using natural horsemanship, also rides well in a light transition bit or hackamore/bosal. Moves softly off foot and leg pressure, is very light, responsive and well on his way to be a real bridle horse. Lopes nice collected circles in both leads, good lateral and vertical flexation. If you like a horse that travels out with a real ground covering walk, a very smooth moving horse with excellent conformation that always watches where he puts his feet, Vegas has all that and more.

He has all the heart and try you could ever ask for in a horse along with a mind that will be able to handle a lot of pressure. He's a quiet, coming 5-year-old, will go all day for you and has that dark steel grey color that is hard to find.

She is good to hobble, will picket out by a hind foot, high line, pack and is developing into a great bell mare. We have used this mare to trail, gather and to sort cattle on the ranch. No bad habits here. A real fun mare just to be around that really wants to please.

"It was a big scary step buying a horse without actually laying eyes and hands on it. I have to commend Bill Oliver for his honesty in representing the horse it is everything he told me it was. He was very forthcoming with each and every detail down to the blemish on its front leg. He is a genuine horseman when it comes to turning out quality individuals; if all your consignors have his skill and integrity you have by far the best sale in the west . I am so enjoying my new mount whether riding or just working around it . It is the sweetest natured animal I have ever owned. "

This is a GRANDSON of SUNFROST, along with ROYAL QUICK DASH, DASHING VALENTINE, BUGS ALIVE IN 75, outta MI DEPTH and WINDWALKER ALIVE to name a few. If you are looking for a BARREL FUTURITY or HEAD HORSE prospect that is bred to run, with a great mind, disposition and has been started right, here he is. He is currently being patterned on barrels and showing promise to be a stand-out barrel horse.

We've had "Frosty" on the ranch with us since he was a 2-year-old and have brought him along nice and slow, never pushed hard but has been exposed to a lot. He is well started with handling a rope, ridden on mountain trails in the North Absaroka and Washakie Wilderness west of Cody Wyoming and is very safe and sure footed. He's trailed and gathered cattle, good to hobble, high line, pack and always good to catch, tie, clip, bathe, shoe, saddle, bridle, load and haul. Never, EVER, cold backed or offered to buck - NO NONSENSE or BAD HABITS!

He was started in a snaffle bit using natural horsemanship, also rides well in a light transition bit or hackamore/bosal. Moves softly off foot and leg pressure, is very light, responsive and well on his way to be a real bridle horse. Lopes nice collected circles in both leads, good lateral and vertical flexation and travels out with a real ground covering walk, a very smooth moving horse with excellent conformation.

This is a very gentle gelding that will fit most level of riders. Due to his young age we would not recommend him as a kid’s horse (yet), so we rate him as a #2 for disposition, but not much ever bothers him. He will fit well for anyone who wants a good looking, gentle, performance, trail or ranch horse. With his pedigree, speed, athleticism and great mind, he should make a stand out barrel horse or head horse.

He has all the heart and try you could ever ask for in a horse along with a mind that will be able to handle a lot of pressure. He's a quiet, coming 5-year-old that rides more like an 8-year-old, a very special young gelding, ones like him don't came along very often and Bill says "Frosty" is one of the nicest young horses he has ever ridden and trained.

Blue Music Smokey

aka Big John

Blue Roan Gelding

SOLD $8750

A "True Blue" Wyoming mountain and trail horse. "BIG JOHN" - 16.1, 1400#'s - There's no mountain too high and no river too wide for this horse.  He's just as quiet and gentle as he is big and strong. "BIG JOHN" has been  ridden and packed all over the back country of Colorado and Wyoming at Elk Camp and on summer pack trips.  He's also been used extensively to gather cattle in very rough country and is sure footed and safe as they come.  "BIG JOHN" is well broke and gentle and will fit most levels of riders. We would not recommend him for little kids or timid beginners just due to his size and power.  He's the kind of horse that stays gentle and broke with extended periods of time off.  This horse will always be at the gate, be ready to go and be easy to clip, bathe, shoe and trailer.  "BIG JOHN" has mostly been used in the mountains but is very handy to have around the ranch and does most ranch horse jobs well.  He always rides out quiet with no fuss, will leave a group of riders and stays calm and respectful in your hands. Good horses that are big, safe, gentle, and 100% sound with lots of shape, color and personality like "BIG JOHN" don't come around everyday.
